It’s time to summarize what startups rocked in 2017 in major EU cities! You know that Syndicode works with different startups and helped to develop tens of them. Also, you know that our company represented in three countries: Ukraine, Germany, and Spain. So far, we will start our journey with Barcelona and discover Barcelona’s best startups in 2017!

Today Barcelona is appealing to both talented Europeans working in the tech industry and entrepreneurs looking for the perfect breeding ground for a new business. Barcelona’s startup ecosystem is great. Just imagine the next figure. According to the Catalan government’s agency for foreign investment and business competitiveness—the city’s startup ecosystem employs around 11,700 people and is ranked fifth in Europe behind London, Berlin, Paris, and Amsterdam.

This marketplace app uses geolocation to match local buyers and sellers and has changed the way we see and sell secondhand items. Think of it as an online flea market where you can find and sell almost anything.

  • TravelPerk

TravelPerk aims to revolutionize the way that organizations budget, book and manage their business travel. The tool allows anyone to manage all their travel in one place, it’s free to use and makes it easy to compare prices and get the best deal.

  • Typeform

Typeform wants to revolutionize form filling by making the process of gathering large-scale information more beautiful, interactive and human. It allows anyone to build good-looking and easily shared surveys and forms using templates, or just their imagination.

  • CornerJob

CornerJob’s mission is to help people find a job in the shortest timeframe possible by allowing users to find geolocated job offers, apply for them, chat directly with recruiters and get an answer within 24 hours. It aims to make hiring easier, quicker and more flexible, especially for blue-collar jobs. It already publishes more than 20,000 jobs a month. The main reason for the app’s success is that they focus on the user experience and good software practices.

  • Bwom

Bwom is a personal tool for women’s intimate health. It is the first app that guides women in their intimate health care throughout their life stages. Bwom offers a free test and evaluation, from which it customizes simple, effective exercises for intimate health like Kegel exercises, the hypopressive method, perineal massage and many others.


DEXMA is a leading provider of cloud-based energy management software for commercial buildings, industrial facilities, and large property portfolios. Their hardware-neutral SaaS solution, DEXCell Energy Manager, combines Big Data analytics with energy efficiency to help thousands of facility managers, energy auditors and building owners around the world to detect, analyze and control energy consumption and costs.

  • Daysk

This is a new way to work on the go. This app helps professionals work remotely. Daysk makes it possible to rent tables wherever you are interested in. They have a list of the best workspaces around, ordered by distance to you. They have an app and in a few taps, you can book a desk, a meeting room, a terrace, etc at their coworking partners.

  • Medtep

Medtep is a digital health platform for patients and healthcare professionals to enhance monitoring using Care Plans. Through “Care Plans” they aim to help people adopt behavioral changes that allow them to complete therapies and change their lifestyle. “Care Plans” are defined by leading experts and are based on recognized standards, they give healthcare professionals a key role in defining, personalizing and monitoring treatment for each patient.


It is a young enterprise made up of engineers and biomedical researchers with experience in the development of clinical solutions. Its main field of expertise is focused on the application of imaging processing techniques to the development of Medical Technologies, mainly oriented to the development of automatic diagnosis tools for complex pathologies.

  • Lodgify

Lodgify is Barcelona-based SaaS company that has been named in Wired’s 100 hottest European startups. It allows both vacation rental owners and property managers to create their own mobile-friendly website. This site will contain a “Book Now” function, manage reservations and availabilities function, and instantly synchronize property information with listings on multiple external vacation rental portals.

  • eCooltra

eCooltra is a new concept of mobility as a service. It complements the public transport and replaces the private transport efficiently, relieving the environment and promotes the sustainable traffic. Their scooters do not cause emissions or run on fossil fuels or oil. This feature allows them to be quiet and environmentally friendly. With a completely innovative system, their scooters do not need a key to be started. They can be activated from the app of each user.

  • GetYourHero

This Barcelona-based startup aims to revolutionize the domestic cleaning sector and acts as a leading online provider for cleaning professionals in Spain. GetYourHero enables you to book trusted, handpicked and certified cleaner in less than 60 seconds through its web or mobile application.

  • 8fit

8fit app helps users get in shape and lose weight through exercise schedules, food plans, and one-on-one coaching. Their personalized high-intensity workouts boost users’ metabolism and tailor meal plans to the users’ needs.

  • Boolino

A place where you can find recommended books and stories for children and young people. Boolino encourages children’s reading. Here you may find the best selling books, ebooks, and apps, classic tales, materials that are proved to have a positive impact on teenagers.

  • Wazypark

Wazypark is a new way to communicate with car drivers, the most qualified and quantified database of car drivers in Europe with +800K registered drivers. This app helps you to find available parking places, gasoline stations, on-road assistance and many more.

  • Badi

Badi is the startup that transforms the way people search for rental property. It is a C2C non vocational flat sharing platform. The easy way to find flatmates.
