On October 14 and 15 Dnipro city hosted one of the largest IT events in Ukraine – ITEM Dnipro 2018! This time 38 speeches were divided into 2 days on the thematic principle – Business Day and Technical Day. Reports of the first day of ITEM 2018 revealed topics such as business development and sales, project and team management, and the creation of IT products. On the second day, the speakers shared experiences and practical tools for product and business security, quality assurance and mobile development.

David Rousset, Senior PM at Microsoft, shared the secrets of creating cross-platform web applications, while Angela Romanenko, Seo at Tamaranga, New Zealand, talked about how to move from outsource to a niche product at no extra cost and with a happy ending.
Maximilliano Firtman from Argentina attended Ukraine for the first time. He conducts trainings for Apple’s specialist staff at eBay, writes profile books and programs for web and mobile already for 23 years. At ITEM he shared his findings and lifehecks on software development.
David Braun, CEO at TemplateMonster, USA, shared his vision of outsourcing IT business. What is the main difference between outsourcing and product development? And what to do to achieve success in both areas?
There was a separate category of speakers ‘Made in UA, where business owners and experts from Ukraine shared their experiences, success stories and fails For example, Yuriy Mirey, CTO of ‘1+1’ TV channel, talked about the specifics of cyber security of large projects, while Artem Serdyuk, Scrum-master, PM & Agile coach, a lecturer in the Kyiv-Mohyla Business School, shared the approaches and tools for creating a company and the challenges that will have to be faced with the company’s self-organization.
Ian Chernov, Co-founder & CEO at FullStackUA.com and Kaiiax told the participants about the specifics of IT product promotion. What works, what’s not, and how to use promotional tools as effectively as possible.
‘Of course, people attend ITEM first of all to hear from successful practitioners about what you will not read in books and on the Internet,’ – saying conference CEO, Anna Izhevskaya, – ‘But we always want to give more, so in these two days we try to create a community of the like-minded people.
