Last November we announced our client Kinderlime started the contract with payroll platform Gusto. Recently Syndicode’s Ruby developer, Andy Alekseenko, wrote the article about payroll automation on Kinderlime blog. He described how Kinderlime running payroll for clocked-in staff with Gusto. Technical details on integration and code samples are included in his original post. Here’s a short summary for you.
Gusto is an online payroll service for small business that is known for its simplicity and saving time spent on payrolls. Since Kinderlime received the integration with Gusto running payroll for clocked-in staff became easier.
Kinderlime automatically fetches all employees from Gusto and checks if they exist as staff in Kinderlime (match either by email or name). Whenever staff member gets deactivated from Kinderlime, Gusto employee is immediately corresponded, so payroll hours don’t get updated from Kinderlime.
Payroll hours for each staff are updated in real-time through Gusto API. On every clock in-out record changes, Kinderlime automatically syncs latest calculated total work hours for the unprocessed payroll period in Gusto.
