Plugins are important components to a designer’s workflow that can be useful power-ups and help improve the product’s functionality. We like using Figma in our projects. But earlier Adobe XD was chosen by most of you because it supported plugins. And lately, we have announced that now Figma allows plugins too! Figma vs. Adobe XD, round 2. Are you ready?
We would like to present to you a new set of fascinating plugins you can use in your projects:
- Figma Chat
Now you can chat with your team without closing the Figma file.
- Split Shape
You can split your shapes, texts, groups into multiple instances. It’s useful when you need to generate columns in one container without calculating the size by yourself.
- Able – Friction-free accessibility
It’s possible to add color contrast and blindness to your workflow very easy. Just open Able and it will automatically compare the contrast between two layers you select.
It allows to add or delete items easily, and separate list for each document.
- iOS Export Settings
This plugin uses the correct export settings for every required iOS App Icon size.
- Data Lab
It makes it possible to paste random or real data into text layers and components. Data Lab supports Names, Dates, Addresses, Phones, Numbers, Emails with data from API or Google Sheet.
It allows you to make a color palette using machine learning from Colormind.
It can apply random user avatars to your designs.
If you compare Figma and Adobe XD:
- Figma is free for you if you’re an independent designer. The Starter plan is three projects and unlimited storage. For teams, the Professional plan costs $12 per month. Desktop apps available for Mac and Windows without offline support. And it even possible to use it on Linux in the browser. All files are stored in the cloud, so they are always accessible.
- Adobe XD is a free for Starters as well. But the design teams can get the full version for $23 per month. The program supports Mac and Windows systems. You can use to 50GB+ folders of design files.
