Meet @syndicode/react-algolia-places – ReactJS component that provides functionality of Agolia Places. This component is different from other available in npm because it doesn’t use Algolia’s “autocomplete.js” package but rather uses “algoliasearch” core package allowing you to use its power with your component’s UI.
For maps, Agolia Places uses free OpenStreetMap API and autocomplete.js widget.
There are some similar npm components, but react-algolia-places is based on the pure places’ search engine implementation without autocomplete.js. Instead, Syndicode uses render-props React pattern. This allows us to render our own custom UI. Credits to Anton Rusinov!
Give us some kudos and star react-agolia-places! There you will also find more information on installation and use.
p.s. Note, “react” and “algoliasearch” aren’t bundled within this package, so you have to install them separately.
